Each year the United States Mint produces American Gold Eagle coins in three versions and four weights. The program launched in 1986 with a bullion and proof version available. An uncirculated coin was added to the series in 2006. There are four weights available, including the 1 oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz, and 1/10 oz.
