The silver bullion coins are offered individually with a protective plastic capsule or in multiples of five coins with a sealed skinboard. The skinboard individually seals each of the five coins inside of the packaging.

At one point in the history of Montserrat, nearly 70% of the population identified as Irish. The British Overseas Territory was initially settled by Europeans with indentured servants from Ireland. These initial European settlers were brought over from St. Kitt’s in 1632 and eventually became the sugar and lime barons of the island through the late 18^th century.

On the reverse side of 2019 1 oz Montserrat Silver Emerald Isle of the Caribbean Coins is the design of the Irish harp. The harp featured on the first design in 2018, but was part of the coat of arms for Montserrat. This year’s design includes only the Irish harp with the image of Erin, the female personification of Ireland, with a bounty of four-leaf clovers all around the harp.

The obverse of 2019 Montserrat Silver Emerald Isle of the Caribbean Coins includes the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is depicted here in right-profile relief in the fourth-generation design from Ian Rank-Broadley. The portrait is surrounded by two fern leaves and includes Her Majesty with the tiara known as the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland. This tiara is known to be the favorite of Queen Elizabeth II.
