He stands amidst the chaos of the Battle of Thermopylae as the Persian Army unleashes one of its deadliest weapons: the war elephant. With no armor of his own, the brave Spartan stands tall as he thrusts a spear upward hoping to take down the giant beast before it can barrel through the Greek lines.

In open battle, the Persian war elephants were more deadly than any other form of cavalry charge known to man. The sheer size of the elephants and the inclusion of Persian soldiers on the “tower” on the elephants back raining down arrows and you had the closest thing to a tank the ancient world knew.

The reverse design of the 2 oz Molon Labe Rounds includes the Intaglio Mint logo with beautiful background elements. The central design field has a radial sunburst while the outer rim of the design field has a stippled, or hammered, design finish.
