The Mint State 69 certification from the PCGS indicates the coins exhibit full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. These flaws are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines visible only outside of the primary design field.

The 2018 Silver Krugerrand is the first issue of the coin as a new annual-release version of the coin. For the 50^th anniversary of the Gold Krugerrand in 2017, the South African Mint issued its first-ever silver version of the coin. On the obverse of the 2018 1 oz South African Silver Krugerrand Coin is the image of Paul Kruger. A leading Boer figure in South Africa during the final decades of the 19^th century, Kruger was a military leader and eventual president of the South African Republic before concluding his life in exile away from his home country.

The reverse of the 2018 Silver Krugerrand Coin bears the image of the Springbok antelope, the nation’s official symbol. The Springbok antelope can be found throughout the southern tip of the African continent. This design captures the animal from the right side as its leaps across open plains.
