The 2016 Australian Silver Monkey Coin is available in a variety of weights in bullion, but the colorized proof version is limited to the popular 1 oz and ½ oz weights. Each coin includes natural hues on the design of the monkey featured on the reverse, bringing the animal to life on the face of the coin.

On the reverse side is the unique Year of the Monkey design featured on Australian Silver Monkey Coins. Slightly different from the gold version, the silver coins feature two monkeys (one adult, one youth) in a peach tree. Engravings include the Chinese symbol for monkey, the phrase “Year of the Monkey,” and the “P” mint mark.

The obverse bears Queen Elizabeth II’s right-profile portrait. Her Majesty’s image is surrounded by engravings that include her name, the nation of issue, year of issue, face value of the coin, and the coin’s weight, purity, and metal content.

Each colorized proof Year of the Monkey silver coin listed on JM Bullion has a Brilliant Uncirculated grade. This condition is reserved for coins with no signs of wear and tear. However, you may notice breaks in the luster or spotted surfaces.
