Adolph A. Weinman and John Mercanti, the US Mint’s chief engraver, are responsible for the designs used on the obverse and reverse (respectfully) of the coins.

These 2015 American Silver Eagle coins have a PR70 grade from the PCGS, meaning that each coin is a perfectly struck proof. When you purchase one of these coins today, each comes with a FUN Show label and Edmond Moy’s signature. The Florida United Numismatics show celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2015. Edmond Moy was the 38th Director of the US Mint. Coins with this label are limited, so supplies will not last long.

On the obverse side of each coin is Weinman’s Walking Liberty image, as first used on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar from 1916 to 1947. On the reverse, Mercanti’s heraldic eagle is featured with 13 stars above its head, representing the original American Colonies.

The United States Mint strikes American Silver Eagle coins for the federal government each year based upon demand for the popular coin. Three of the US Mint’s four primary mint facilities produce Silver Eagles for the government. The Philadelphia Mint, San Francisco Mint, and West Point Mint all participate in production, while the Denver Mint does not.
