2015 1/2 oz Lunar Year of the Sheep $10 Canadian Silver Coin (BU)

The 2015 1/2 oz oz Year of the Sheep $10 Canadian Silver Coin is produced by the Royal Canadian Mint as part of their Chinese Zodiac series. Each coin has been minted with 1/2 troy ounce of .9999 pure silver and contains a specimen finish. These 2014 1/2 oz Year of the Sheep coins are available in brand new condition and will ship in their RCM maroon clamshell display box accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

The featured design on the coin’s reverse side shows a Bighorn sheep’s head and upper body with fine detail. Stamped onto the sheep’s chest is the Chinese character for sheep. In the background of the image are several bamboo plants. The coin’s face value and minting year are listed to the right of the sheep while the nation’s name is listed above. To the left are the words “Year of the Sheep.” The Lunar Year of the Sheep represents those born in 2015, 2003, 1991, 1979, 1967, 1955, 1943, 1931 and 1919. The goat is the 8th in the Lunar cycle which consists of 12 total animals. People who were born in the Year of the Goat are said to be kind and polite. The coin’s obverse side features Susanna Blunt’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II turned in profile. To the left of the queen, her name is listed. Listed to her right, the inscriptions “D.G. Regina” are listed (an abbreviation for the Latin phrase Dei Gratia Regina).
