The entire reverse side of the coin is made up of .999 silver with the exception of the Koala, which is gilded in 24 karat gold. Above the image of the koala is an inscription that reads “Australian Koala” while the 1 oz weight and .999 purity indications are featured towards the bottom of the reverse side of the coin. Typical for coins produced by Perth Mint, the coin’s obverse depicts Queen Elizabeth II in profile.
