2012-S 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin NGC PF70 RP

This 2012 reverse proof edition of the popular American Silver Eagle Coin was produced at the San Francisco branch of the US Mint. Originally released on November 24, 1986, the American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the U.S. This particular coin features an Ultra Cameo finish with a high level of contrast between the frosted and reflective portions of the design.

Each proof coin has been minted from 1 oz of 99.9% pure silver, giving it a legally tender face value of $1 USD. The reverse side of the coin prominently displays the Great Seal of the U.S. This iconic emblem consists of a spread winged eagle carrying an oversized shield. In its beak, it holds a scroll bearing the words, “E Pluribus Unum” while its opposing talons balance a set of arrows with an olive branch. The poignant imagery of this crest represents not only the nation’s dedication to peace and unity, but also the protective measures it must take to defend those ideals. Engraved along the outer edge of the coin is are its vital information, including its weight, purity, denomination and country of mintage.
