In 2014, the popular online forum gave life to a physical precious metal product when the Ariana Silver Fairy round was introduced in honor of the group, with design inspirations coming directly from members. Ariel is the latest fairy to join the Silverbug Fairy Series of rounds from the Silverbug community. The inspiration for each fairy’s design comes from the members of the Silverbug Reddit community, with an artist then selected to bring the concept to life for striking on silver blanks.

In this fourth release of the series, Ariel the Tree Fairy is available to investors and collectors in four different weights and two versions. There are proof rounds in 1 oz and 5 oz weights, as well as antique rounds in the same 1 oz and 5 oz weights. These 1 oz Proof Silverbug Tree Fairy Silver Rounds have a mirrored, proof finish with a gleaming visual appeal.

On the obverse of the 1 oz Proof Silverbug Tree Fairy Silver Round is the image of Ariel. The inspiration behind the design concept comes from Shakespeare’s play “The Tempest.” Written in 1610-11, it is said to be the last he wrote alone and follows a plot to restore the sorcerer Prospero’s daughter Miranda to her rightful place through illusion and skillful manipulation.

Ariel is depicted on the obverse of these rounds levitating in front of a cloven oak tree. Her figure is angelic and soft, with her hair and dress flowing in the breeze. The image of Ariel is set against the imposing oak tree, with its bearded face, muscular roots, and powerful limbs reaching out to take her in its clutches.

The reverse of all Silverbug Tree Fairy Silver Rounds includes the scarab beetle design. Used on all three previous Silver Fairy releases, this latest beetle is now hand-carved for the series to bring added depth and beauty to the design itself.

All 1 oz Proof Silverbug Tree Fairy Silver Rounds ship in AirTite plastic capsules, and include a numbered Certificate of Authenticity that matches the edge-lettering on each round of its individual serial number. The 1 oz silver rounds in proof are numbered from 1 to 5,000.
