The Hobo Nickel rounds debuted in 2016 with all five designs created in that initial series by Mr. The. His real name is Paulo Curcio and his unique twists on the original Buffalo Nickel were highly coveted. The rounds in the second set of five designs are different and unique in their own right. First and foremost, there is a new designer for each release in the second installment of the collection.

For the fifth design of the second collection, Bill Jameson brings the collection back to its roots with designs that offer a distinct twist on the actual Buffalo Nickel design. Hobo nickel artwork got its name from the traveling hobos of America who would etch their own artwork onto circulation nickels in the late 19^th and early 20^th centuries. Jameson’s design of Mr. Jowls and His Pet Buffalo accurately captures this take on design.

On the obverse of 1 oz Antique Mr. Jowls and His Pet Buffalo Silver Rounds is the left-profile portrait of a man with strong facial features, most notably his jowls. He wears a bowler cap and has a beard of heavy stubble. Engravings of “Liberty” and “1936” are featured on this face of the round as well.

The reverse of 1 oz Mr. Jowls and His Pet Buffalo Silver Rounds includes the left-profile relief of an American bison. Very close to the original design from James Earle Fraser, His Pet Buffalo as featured in this design has a man’s face with a bowler hat on its head.

These 1 oz Antique Mr. Jowls and His Pet Buffalo Silver Rounds are available with unique edge lettering of the individual serial number. Each round is housed in a protective plastic air-tite capsule and comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
